The recipe, without colorants and preservatives, for homemade ice cream
How about a good ice cream for a snack or as a dessert at the end of a meal, now that summer is coming?
Ice cream, fresh and delicious, can please everyone: young and old. But often, for convenience, it is purchased packaged, and is therefore full of colorants , preservatives and added sugars that if consumed regularly can be harmful to our health.
Should we consider it a food to be consumed only sporadically, then? An exception to a healthy and balanced diet?
Not at all!
The secret is to consume ice cream that contains only fresh and genuine ingredients , natural, and the best way to do this is to prepare it at home. It is not difficult at all and in fact, with a juice extractor it is a real breeze.

- 300g of fruit of your choice
- 200g of whole milk, semi-skimmed, skimmed or vegetable drink
- Honey, maple syrup, stevia or other sweetener to taste
- Lemon juice

- Peel and cut the fruit into small pieces, moisten it with lemon juice to slow down oxidation and place it in the freezer.
- Take some cow's milk or a plant-based drink of your choice and freeze it in the quantity needed, adding a little honey or another sweetener to taste.
- Keep everything in the freezer for at least 12 hours
- Insert the closed filter into the extractor and close the spout where the juice normally comes out with the appropriate cap
- Place a jug or bowl under the spout where the waste usually comes out
- Remove the ingredients from the freezer, wet them with a little water to soften them and start inserting them into the extractor
- Gently mix the mixture obtained with the extractor, adjusting the density according to your preferences with more milk or other fruit.
- Enjoy your homemade ice cream right away or remember to store it in the freezer

To get an excellent result you need to pay close attention (and practice) to the degree of freezing of the food before placing it in the extractor.In fact, if you insert them too frozen, you risk ruining the extractor filter, while if they are not frozen enough, the result could be too liquid.
The right degree of freezing can be recognized by trying to cut the pieces of fruit. When they are still a little hard but can be cut with a knife, then it is time to insert them into the extractor.
